The Child Dental Benefits Schedule covers children’s dentistry expenses, so your child can have the future of bright and healthy smiles that they deserve!
Under Medicare, the Australian government has initiated a program called the Child Dental Benefits Schedule which entitles children aged 0-17 years old to $1,052 worth of children’s dentistry treatment.
Eligible children are covered for two-calendar years which commences on the child’s first dental treatment after receiving the Medicare letter of eligibility.
To ensure understanding and make the most out of the program, we strongly recommend calling us ahead. Our staff will answer your questions about the program.
Services Australia assesses a child’s eligibility from the start of each calendar year and routinely check for newly eligible children.
A notification of eligibility will be sent to the child or their parent/guardian either by post or electronically through MyGov.
It is optional for a parent/guardian or patient to present this notification to the practice at the time of the appointment.
